C-FACTS facilitated a neighborhood planning process to assist General Motors, DTE Energy, Rock Ventures and the Skillman Foundation in creating a pilot five-year neighborhood investment strategy in Detroit. C-FACTS analyzed demographic, economic, employment and housing trends, reviewed existing plans and interviewed stakeholders in multiple neighborhoods to select the targeted investment area. We developed goals, specific strategies and resource requirements to implement the plan. Our team facilitated the development of the partners’ shared value statement for investment, developed a data driven process to select a 40-block target area based on collective shared value principles, designed a $44 million strategic investment framework and created success metrics, strategies and a budget to address desired outcomes focused on integration of education, neighborhood conditions, employment and community safety.
The strategic investment plan is aligned with other investment initiatives to connect the plan to existing resources. The plan is built on the community engagement efforts underway with a community action alliance partner and will continue to incorporate community engagement to successfully implement the investment strategies.
