Cherré has 30 years of housing and community development experience. As a TA expert, she has participated with the planning, advertising, and delivery of numerous HUD-sponsored group learning events, conducted HUD needs assessments, created work plans and has provided hands-on HUD-related TA on HOME, CHDO, CDBG and NSP to state and local governmental grantees, subgrantees, nonprofit subrecipients, and other housing organizations in HUD program design, ownership and rental housing development and rehab, and organizational planning and development. Her HUD-TA experience covers Minnesota, Colorado, Iowa, Illinois, Oklahoma, Washington, Massachusetts and North Carolina.

In her previous position with the City of Minneapolis Community Planning and Economic Development Department (CPED) she provided TA in the following areas: 1) Homeownership projects and homebuyer program design and management utilizing HOME and CDBG funds; 2) Homeowner rehabilitation programs utilizing HOPE 3 resources; and 3) Rental housing development utilizing HOME funds. She is a certified HOME Program Regulations Specialist, and Rental Compliance Specialist, is certified as a Housing Development Finance Professional by the National Development Council and has a Master of Science degree in Community Economic Development from Southern New Hampshire University.
